Simara: The All-Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has launched the ‘FIFA Football for Schools’ program with the objective of attracting school children to football.

The program was inaugurated by distributing footballs to 17 schools at the Simara Stadium.

ANFA Central Vice President Dawa Lama expressed his belief that the program will contribute to the physical and mental development of students, stating that the goal is to make children healthy, active, and disciplined, rather than just producing players.

The program also aims to reduce the growing dependence on mobile and digital activities and attract children to sports.

The program, which targets students under the age of 14, is being implemented in 137 countries around the world by FIFA. In Nepal, it has been implemented in 193 schools across all 77 districts.

FIFA has provided Nepal with 33,640 footballs, which ANFA is distributing to schools across the country. It is expected that the program will develop a football culture at the school level and help prepare a healthy future generation.

The program, chaired by Lama, was attended by ANFA’s Madhes Province Treasurer Shambhu Singh Thakuri, Madhes Province General Secretary Dipak Sah, Bara District Football Association General Secretary Ramkrishna Shrestha, other district officials, and representatives from various schools. The program was facilitated by Sunil Gaule, President of the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum, Bara.
