Simara: Nawa Janjagriti Yuwa Club Simara has raised the title of ‘Bara District Football League’. Nawa Janjagriti Bara became the District “Champion” by defeating Nijgadh Youth Club in sudden death in the final match held on Thursday at Mathwa Maidan in Kolhabi.

After both teams played a goalless draw at the scheduled time of the competitive final, the match went to a tiebreaker. Even in the tiebreaker, Nawa Janjagriti won in sudden death after the tie was 3-3.

Along with the title, Nawa Janjagriti received 50,000 cash and runner-up Nijgadh received 25,000 cash. Kaushuv Shrestha of Nawa Janagriti was declared the best player of the tournament. Similarly, Anjan Bachhar of Nawa Janjagriti and Jayaram Chaudhary of Nijgadh were declared the top scorer of the tournament.

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Vice President Dawa Lama, Mayor of Kolhabi Municipality Ram Prasad Chaudhary, Madhes Pradesh Football Association President Nepal Karki, Bara District Football Association President Ramchandra Lama and others distributed prizes to the winning and runner-up teams and players.

Nawa Janjagriti Club, the winner of the district league, will now participate in the state league.
