Clash Between GenZ Youth and Police in Simara

Simara: A clash occurred between the youth and police in Simara on Thursday afternoon.

The youth, who were demanding the arrest of individuals involved in assaulting them, staged a protest and blocked the highway, leading to a confrontation with police.

The situation in Simara has become tense after the clash. Police officers were chased away by the youth from Simara Chowk. The youth who chased the police are now sitting in protest at Simara Chowk.

Both police personnel and youth were injured during the incident. Injured youth are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.

The youth had begun their protest at Simara Chowk at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, demanding action against those involved in the earlier assault. The police have arrested two people accused of being involved in the incident, including Dhana Bahadur Shrestha, the chairman of Ward No. 2 of Jeetpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City, and Kaimuddin Ansari, the chairman of Ward No. 6.

According to the youth, the assault was carried out by members of the National Youth Association Nepal and CPN-UML workers on Wednesday. After the incident, the youth filed a complaint identifying seven individuals, on the basis of which police made the arrests.

However, the youth continue to demand the arrest of all the individuals named in their complaint. Samrat Upadhyaya, coordinator of GenZ Youth Bara, stated that the movement will not stop until all those named are taken into custody.
