Simara: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuwa has said that there is no alternative to the construction of Nijgadh International Airport. Prime Minister Deuwa, who came for inspection as soon as the way was paved for the construction of the airport, said that the airport would be constructed.

Prime Minister Deuba, who accompanied the top leaders of the coalition parties, said at a briefing held at the Nijgadh-based Development Task Force that the airport would be built even if two runways were constructed. During the briefing, Prime Minister Deuba said that he was positive about the airport.

Giving a brief response to the media after the briefing, Deuwa said that the Terai-Madhes Expressway and the airport are connected to each other and both the projects would be in the priority of the government. ‘The expressway is envisioned because of the airport. Therefore, both the projects should be built, ”said Deuwa. Even if there are two runways, the airport will be built.

Stating that the justification for building the expressway is linked to the airport and if the airport is not built on time, billions of state investment will be wasted, said Prachanda. Prachanda said that there was a much-needed project for the country and that it was necessary to move forward with determination to build it in Nijgadh.

Former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal also said that the construction of the airport should not be stopped. Leader Nepal said that the way has been opened for the construction of the airport and now everyone’s support is needed to make it a success. ‘The way is open for the construction of the airport. Now no one is obstructing it, ”Nepal said.“ Everyone should cooperate for the construction of the airport by making legitimate demands. Otherwise, there is a fear of being taken away again. ‘

Chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party, Upendra Yadav, said that one should not think of alternatives to Nijgadh as a nationwide survey found it suitable. Stating that a well-equipped international airport is very much needed in the country, Yadav said that he was positive to move ahead with the construction of the airport.

Durga Poudel, vice-chairperson of Rastriya Janamorcha, another leader of the coalition party, said that the airport should be built with minimum damage.

The delegation led by the Prime Minister included Finance Minister Janardan Sharma, Forest and Environment Minister Ram Sahay Yadav, Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Drinking Water Minister Umakanta Chaudhary, Bagmati Chief Minister Rajendra Pandey and Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority Pradip Adhikari.

The team also held discussions with the mayors of Jitpursimara Sub-metropolitan city, Nijgadh Municipality and Kolhabi Municipality. During the discussion, the people’s representative drew the attention of the leaders including the Prime Minister to move ahead saying that the construction work of the airport should not be stopped.

Acting Chief of Nijgadh Airport Project Bijay Yadav briefed the team led by the Prime Minister about the recent progress on the airport.
